David Farland is a New York Times best-selling science fiction and
fantasy author with over 50 novels to his credit. He is also the
coordinating judge for one of the world's largest writing contests,
and has trained dozens of other authors, including such #1 bestsellers
as Brandon Sanderson, Brandon Mull, James Dashner, and Stephenie Meyer.
Dave has won numerous awards, including the Philip K. Dick Memorial
Special Award, the Whitney Award for Best Novel of the Year, the
International Book Award, and the Hollywood Book Festival Award for
Best Book of the Year.
As a videogame designer, he co-led the design team on Starcraft: Brood
War, and scripted other games.
He's also worked on several Hollywood properties as a novelist,
including Star Wars and The Mummy.
